Richard Lackey is the Chairman & CEO of the World Food Bank, which he founded in 2015 as a sustainable solution to hunger and food security issues across the globe. Richard is a career entrepreneur with 30 years of leadership experience in the trading and securities industry, having founded and led companies that were sold to Goldman Sachs and eTrade, serving as the managing director for five successful private funds, and authoring three books on technical analysis and market analysis.
But while Richard is a highly-regarded expert in the securities and trading industry, his core passion is resolving world hunger. Prior to his time in the trading world, Richard worked in emergency medicine and has been involved in medical relief teams in more than a dozen countries. Through this work, Richard was exposed first-hand to devastating poverty and hunger. He believed then, as he does now, that the suffering so many people experience from poverty and hunger can be prevented and alleviated through better integration of industry and political systems, especially systems that are market-driven, regenerative, and sustainable.
“I know that we can end hunger in our world and that we can do it in a way that provides benefits throughout all levels of society,” he said. “We started the World Food Bank to fill a gap in our global food system. Up to now, governments, NGOs, and other industries have been mostly focusing hunger-alleviation efforts on stand-alone programs and products. The World Food Bank takes a systemic approach. It is sustainable because it is a for-profit and because it plugs into a larger ecosystem where every party thrives on the success of others.”

Kristin Hoffmann is a Juilliard trained singer-songwriter-composer and vocalist for the internationally acclaimed show, BELLA GAIA. As a strong advocate for peace and Earth/Ocean conservation, Kristin opens sonic-emotional heart spaces in which powerful new awareness, connection and healing can flourish. She works regularly with other thought leaders and change-makers to amplify important wisdom for our times through the powerful vehicle of music.
After spending multiple years in her early career on major labels, Capitol Records and Interscope Records, Kristin concluded that in order to be in highest alignment with her life’s mission, she would need to think outside of the traditional music industry box and embark on a road less travelled. Since that critical turning point, she has had the honor of performing throughout the world, appearing internationally at countless environmental concerts and peace symposiums including; TEDx San Francisco, The Emoto Peace Project concert in Tokyo, the signing of The Fuji Declaration at Mt. Fuji, and with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. The symphonic version of her "Song for the Ocean" was performed at Sydney Opera House by a choir of 800 Australian children. She is currently on the board of FIONS (Friends of Institute of Noetic Sciences), an active member of the esteemed group Evolutionary Leaders, an UPLIFT Connect "Heartist," and a musical ambassador for the organization UNITY EARTH.

Many wonderful experiences have happened since and I feel to be one of the luckiest people alive to have delved deep into music and met so many great souls. Some highlights were when I became associated with the bansuri (North Indian Bamboo flute) and met the marvelous master of the bansuri, Hariprasad Chaurasia. His sound and technique were so sublime and I was entranced. I longer could stay away and moved to India for 2 years where I met Hariprasad and he agreed to teach me! This was beyond joyful for me. The organic, healing sound of the bansuri was a healing force and I felt Indian music with this instrument held me in the heart. I followed Hariprasad to the Rotterdam Conservatorium for 12 years of study there (I commuted to Holland 3-5 times a year from Washington DC). I earned 2 degrees in World music there.
Simultaneous to this musical journey I continued to study the spiritual traditions (mainly from India) and felt very close to the teaching and presence of Swami Muktananda, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, and others.
One day a musician friend returned from a spiritual retreat with the spiritual master Adi Da Samraj and I picked him up from the airport. Right away I felt a transmission from this friend of mine. I knew immediately this was from Adi Da. A spiritual current descended on me and in a few weeks, I was given the opportunity to play for Adi Da and was overwhelmed from a tangible spiritual force from Adi Da.
It was great to find out Adi Da was deeply into music and Hariprasad was one of his favorite musicians! I spent hundreds of hours in Adi Da’s presence (before his passing in 2008) playing for Him in blissful swoons.
I am always thankful to music for leading deep into the heart and many spiritual adventures. When I release a record or record some music,
I want it to reflect the ecstatic state of being I’ve felt with my music and spiritual masters. If that feeling is not there, then all the technique and musical sophistication mean nothing. And if that magic is there, even the playing of a few notes can say so much. This journey is not over!
